The purpose of Veterans at Sea is to provide a holistic alternative to veterans and their spouse/caregiver during a four- day retreat aboard a cruise ship. While the holistic programs are our focus, we also offer them a chance to unwind and relax in an environment that is sometimes unattainable. Our main purpose is to bring back the bond of family integrity, by equipping veterans and their families with holistic methods to combat the inner battles. Many families have been torn apart because our veterans are suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress, depression, physical or other mental injuries. This, combined with spouses who do not understand their veteran’s struggle, has caused tremendous stress on families. Today, with more than 22 veterans a day taking their own lives, this is leaving a gaping wound for the family that is left behind.
